Youth Art Teacher Wanted: Join Our Creative Family at Atelier School of Art!

Atelier School of Art is excited to announce an opportunity for a passionate and imaginative Art Teacher to join our team! We are looking for a dynamic educator to inspire and guide our weekend art classes for elementary and middle school-aged students. At Atelier, we believe that art is not just a subject, but a journey of discovery and creativity that every child deserves to experience.

Position Overview:

• Location: Atelier School of Art, 407 E 4th St. Royal Oak, MI 48067

• Schedule: Weekend Classes (Saturday and/or Sunday)

• Ages: Elementary and Middle School Students

• Contract Type: Part-time, Independent Contractor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging art lessons that foster creativity, self-expression, and skill development in our students.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and inspired to explore their artistic potential.
  • Collaborate with the Atelier team to organize art shows and exhibitions showcasing our students’ masterpieces.
  • Continuously assess and adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students, ensuring an enriching learning experience for all.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching art and working with diverse groups of youth students, preferably in a formal educational setting.
  • Strong proficiency in various art mediums, with a diverse portfolio demonstrating technical skill, past student work and creative expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with students of all ages.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young learners in a collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work as an independent contractor.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, with availability to teach classes on evenings and weekends.
  • Background check clearance.
