makeup policy

ATELIER MAKEUP POLICY

  • Makeups have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for refunds, credit toward other bills, gift certificates, or merchandise. They’re offered only to help you complete the classes you’ve paid for.
  • Notify us at least 24 hours in advance. if you’ll be absent. You can let us know by phone, email, or in person with a Studio Coordinator. Please don’t notify your instructor, they do not track make ups.
  • If you’re sick the day of class, especially with a cough or flu, please stay home and call us that morning. We’ll do our best to find a fair solution for you.
  • Makeups must be scheduled ahead of time. This helps us track attendance accurately which is important both for managing class size and making sure instructors are paid fairly. Until the new system launches, please schedule via phone, email, or in person with a Studio Coordinator. Instructors do not schedule make ups.
  • Makeups expire 30 days after the missed class. This keeps your practice on track and helps us manage our finances responsibly by closing out revenue each month.
  • Pre-make ups are allowed. If you know you’ll miss a class, you’re welcome to schedule a make up before your planned absence.
  • You may hold up to 4 make up credits. If you’ll be away for more than 4 weeks, please speak with a Studio Coordinator—we have other options, though extended absences may result in losing your spot in class.

I personally designed this policy to balance flexibility with sustainability. I work closely with Nora and Steve to make sure you receive any make ups you’re entitled to. If you ever have a question or need clarification, please don’t hesitate to talk with me directly.

And a quick note: we don’t check email over the weekend. If you need to arrange a make up for a Saturday or Sunday class, please contact us before 5pm on Thursday.

Warmly,
Todd Burroughs
