We offer a variety of high quality oil painting and drawing classes for all ages from elementary through adult.

You can become a member at any time by paying an annual fee of $200. Membership gives you a 15% discount on all classes and workshops for 12 months from the purchase date. Family memberships are available for $300/year. The discounted rates start from the first day of your membership. Please note that memberships are non-refundable.

We like to keep our class sizes right around 10 students to ensure plenty of one-on-one attention, guidance and support.

You can register for a class by creating an Atelier account on our website. By placing a $60 deposit, you will not only be paying for your first class you will also be holding your spot on the roster. If you are beginning a class mid-month, no worries at all, we can prorate the remaining monthly amount and begin your normal billing cycle on the 1st of the following month.

Yes, if you cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled class, you can reschedule or arrange a make-up session. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the class time are not eligible for rescheduling or make-up sessions. All rescheduled classes must be completed within 30 days of the missed session. To reschedule, please contact Ashley at amurawa@atelierartstudio.org or call (248) 951-4400.

Make-up sessions can be used within your current class, in another class of your choice, or even towards workshops. However, make-up sessions are only available if the cancellation was made more than 48 hours in advance.

You can cancel a workshop with at least 7 days’ notice for a full refund. If you cancel with less than 7 days’ notice, you’ll receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be given if you cancel less than 48 hours before the workshop.

Tuition is billed on the 1st of each month and covers your one class per week. The monthly fee for members is $247 for 4 classes, while non-members pay $286. If there is a 5th class in the month, there will be an additional charge. Monthly payments are automatic and continue until you decide to cancel. Please provide at least one week’s notice to cancel before the next billing cycle. No refunds are issued for missed classes, only make-up sessions if notified at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled class.

Some classes, camps, and workshops may require additional fees for materials or models, depending on the course.

All materials for youth classes are provided in the monthly fee. For adult/high school students you can purchase the materials from the suggested supply list on your own or pay an additional fee of $80/month to have the materials provided by Atelier.

Typically, we follow the Royal Oak Schools cancellation policy for inclement weather. If possible, we will reschedule the class for a different day/time. If classes are canceled, you will be contacted via your email address on file. If classes cannot be rescheduled, we will issue a refund.

Our classes run all year long and are not limited by semesters or time frames. There is never any stress to re-register! Students remain enrolled on a month to month basis and are encouraged to continue developing and progressing as long as they would like to.

Elementary

The Elementary Guided Study is a weekly art course designed for students interested in refining their art skills and techniques. It offers hands-on experience in various mediums and encourages personal expression and creativity.

There are several class options available:
– Mondays from 4:30-6:30pm (Starting Sept. 9th)
– Thursdays from 4:00-6:00pm (FULL, waitlist available)
– Saturdays from 10:00am-12:00pm (Starting Sept. 7th)
– Saturdays from 12:30-2:30pm (Starting Sept. 7th)
