Art Master Classes in Royal Oak

At Atelier School of Art, we offer a variety of art classes catering to different skill levels and interests. Our classes include traditional drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art, along with specialized workshops in printmaking, mixed media, and art history. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, our curriculum is designed to enhance your skills and inspire creativity.

We offer an annual membership for $255, which gives you a 15% discount on all classes and workshops for 12 months from the purchase date.

We also offer a family membership for $355/year, which extends the same benefits to everyone in your immediate household.

For example, most of our classes cost $286 every four weeks. With a membership, you’d pay $247—so if you take just one class for seven months, the membership essentially pays for itself. If you take two classes, it pays off in just over 3 months.

You’re welcome to start without a membership and add it later if you’d like.

Please note: All memberships are non-refundable.

We like to keep our class sizes right around 10 students to ensure plenty of one-on-one attention, guidance and support.

You can register for a class by creating an Atelier account or by filling out our enrollment form, both of which are available on our website. Simply press the “Register for Classes” button on our homepage to get started.

New students typically begin the first week of the month, and enrolling ahead of time helps ensure you secure a spot on the roster.

You can cancel a workshop with at least 7 days’ notice for a full refund. If you cancel with less than 7 days’ notice, you’ll receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be given if you cancel less than 48 hours before the workshop.

Billing starts on your first day of class and follows a 4-week cycle, covering one class per week (4 classes total).

• Online Drawing – Value Plan: $123.50

• Art From Life – Value Plan: $271
• Art From Life – Standard Plan: $310

Payments are billed automatically every 4 weeks unless you choose to go on hold or unenroll. We do not offer refunds for missed classes, but we do offer makeup sessions—full details can be found in our [Makeup Policy].

Some classes, camps, and workshops may require additional fees for materials or models, depending on the course.

For our Youth and Teen Studios, all materials are included in the monthly fee.

For painting classes:

You can either bring your own supplies or join our Materials Plan for $80/month—just show up and we’ll supply you with a canvas, and you can use our paint, brushes, palette, mediums, etc. Or bring your own. When you enroll, we’ll share our recommended materials list so you know exactly what you’ll need.

For drawing classes:

Drawing students will need to bring their own supplies. Upon enrollment, we’ll send you a list of recommended materials.

Typically, we follow the Royal Oak Schools cancellation policy for inclement weather. If possible, we will reschedule the class for a different day/time. If classes are canceled, you will be contacted via your email address on file. If classes cannot be rescheduled, we will issue a refund.

Our classes run all year long and are not limited by semesters or time frames. There is never any stress to re-register! Students remain enrolled on a month to month basis and are encouraged to continue developing and progressing as long as they would like to.

Absolutely! Private lessons can be scheduled as per student/teacher availability. Private lessons cost $100/hour and can be tailored to your specific needs. Please contact the studio if you are interested or have any questions at (248) 951-4400.
